The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), Lucknow, has released an official notice regarding the offline written examination for Direct Recruitment 2025. As per the latest update, the offline written exam for UP ASI 2026 is expected to be held in October or November 2026. A total of 311 vacancies have been announced for UP Police ASI (Clerk) and 114 posts have been announced for the position of Accountant. 

The UP Police ASI Recruitment is also going on for the 2023 recruitment cycle. The PET will be held on 5th January 2026. Candidates who will qualify the PET/MT round will be called for the Typing Test and Stenography Round which will be held in February 2026. The UP Police ASI Bharti was announced for a total of 653 vacancies of Assistant Sub Inspector in Clerk & Accounts - Group C. Graduate candidates are eligible for the UP Police ASI Recruitment.

• The Selected candidates will get the UP Police ASI Salary range between Rs. 5200 to 20200.

UP Police ASI Eligibility Criteria 2025-26

UP Police ASI eligibility criteria has been mentioned in the official notification. As per the notification, the minimum eligibility criteria in terms of age limit, nationality, education, physical standards, and marital status have been mentioned below:

A. Nationality

The candidate should be either:

• an Indian citizen
• a Tibetan refugee migrated to India permanently before 1st January 1962
• an Indian origin person migrated permanently to India from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania.

D. Age Limit

The candidates must be aged between 21 years to 28 years. The age relaxation limit shall be as per the category:

E. Physical Standards

UP Police ASI Selection Process 2025-26

The candidates will be selected on the basis of a written exam, verification & physical measurement test, and computer typing/stenography test. The successful candidates who will be found meritorious would be selected after a medical test and character verification. As per the existing norms, the selection process involves the following stages: 

1. Written Exam
2. Document Verification & Physical Measurement Test
3. Computer Typing Test
4. Medical Test
5. Character Verification

Written Examination

The UP Police ASI Written Examination will be of 400 marks. With Questions coming from various subjects such as General Hindi, Computer Knowledge, Numerical Ability, Logical reasoning etc. The Examination will be of 2 Hours 30 Minutes. 

Physical Measurement Test

The minimum physical standards for male candidates are as follows:

Height:

• (i) The minimum height for male candidates belonging to General/Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes should be 163 centimeters.
• (ii) The minimum height for male candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes should be 156 centimeters.

UP Police ASI Exam Pattern 2025-26

• The written exam shall be conducted in online mode.
• The exam shall consist of objective-type questions only.
• The candidates will have to score at least 35% in each subject and 40% overall.
