SSC CHSL 2026: The Staff Selection Commission will soon release the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) on its official website, i.e. www.ssc.gov.in. The Staff Selection Commission is expected to release the SSC CHSL 2026 application form along with the official notification in May 2026. As per the schedule, the application process was planned to begin on 30 April 2026 and continue till 31 May 2026. SSC CHSL 2026 Eligibility

Before applying for the exam, the candidates must make sure that they fulfil the SSC CHSL eligibility as specified by the Staff Selection Commission in the official recruitment notification. These criteria are based on nationality, age limit, and educational qualifications. Meeting all three is essential for being considered for the CHSL recruitment process. Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizens must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

SSC CHSL Nationality

Candidates applying for SSC CHSL 2026 must fulfil at least one of the following nationality requirements:

  • A citizen of India, or

  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or

  • A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from one of the following countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India: Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka, East African countries: Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam

SSC CHSL Age Limit

The minimum age in the SSC CHSL 2026 is 18-27 years. This implies that the age of the candidates should be between 02-01-1999 and 01-01-2008 (both inclusive). The maximum age limit will be 01-01-2026. Make sure you have substantial evidence/documents to claim age relaxation benefits.   • For DEOO/ DEO Grade ’A’ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture: Candidates must have passed the 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University.

  • For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ’A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognised Board or equivalent.
