The Reserve Bank of India has released the RBI JE notification 2026 on the official website. Candidates can go through the notification PDF before filling up the form. A total of 11 vacancies are announced of Electrical and Civil Engineering. Candidates can apply online from 16th April to 6th May 2026. The applications for RBI JE Recruitment must be submitted online on the official RBI website at rbi.gov.in. Candidates are required to fill out an online application form. Follow the steps given below to apply for RBI JE Recruitment 2026:
Step 1 – Visit the Official Website
Go to the Recruitments page of the RBI website. Click the link for RBI JE Recruitment. Read the given instructions and click on the 'Online Application Link' provided there.
Step 2 – Online Registration
On the next page, click on "New Registration'. Enter the required details and register yourself. You will, be provided the registration number, and password. Proceed to fill the application form.
Step 3 – Fill Out the RBI JE Application Form
Login using the credentials and proceed to fill out the application form. Enter all details carefully. Cross-check the details and save them to proceed.
Step 4 – Upload Documents

RBI JE selection process is based on an online examination and a language proficiency test (LPT). The details of the RBI JE selection process have been discussed below.
It is an online objective type test comprising of 180 questions for 300 marks spanning across 4 sections i.e. English language, Engineering discipline Paper I, Engineering discipline Paper II and General Awareness. Each section carries different marks and has to be cleared separately.
Candidates who clear the online exam are shortlisted for the next stage i.e. Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The LPT is conducted in the official/local language of the zone applied for. The candidates have to demonstrate prescribed proficiency levels in reading, writing and speaking of the local language. Those lacking the proficiency will not be considered for the post despite clearing other selection stages. The LPT aims to check the fluency, grasp and expression of candidates in the local language to effectively service local customers.
The RBI JE Syllabus consist of topics from English language (50 questions of 50 marks), engineering discipline paper 1 (40 questions of 100 marks), Engineering Discipline Paper 2 (40 questions of 100 marks), and general awareness (50 questions of 50 marks).

Selected candidates will draw a starting basic pay of INR 33,900 per month (i.e. INR 20,700 plus nine advance increments admissible to Junior Engineers) in the scale of INR 20700 – 1200 (3) – 24300 –1440 (4) - 30060 – 1920 (6) – 41580 – 2080 (2) – 45740 – 2370 (3) – 52850 – 2850 – 55700 and other allowances, as admissible from time to time. Currently, the monthly Gross emoluments for RBI JE will be approximately INR 71,032. The RBI JE Salary package will include government-mandated perks and allowances including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Medical Insurance, etc.
Aspirants must refer to good study materials for effective preparation. There are several important books that can help the candidate in their preparation for the RBI JE exam. Some of the most useful books are the Made Easy guide for the respective engineering branch - Civil or Electrical. This book covers all the topics in the syllabus in a comprehensive yet simple manner. IEI publication on electricity is another useful book that focuses exclusively on the electrical engineering portion of the syllabus. Another important book is the RBI JE previous years' question papers book which will give the candidate extensive practice in solving past year papers. Attempt of previous year papers is very important for speed and accuracy. Apart from these, guide books from Arihant or Prabhat Prakashan are also good resources that compile theory along with sample papers for regular practice. The admit card is an important document carrying details of the candidate and their examination schedule like date, timing and venue. The cut-off marks of the online exam will be decided by the RBI after evaluation of the difficulty level of the questions asked in the exam. The cut-off generally depends upon various factors like number of vacancies, total number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam etc. Candidates should note that the RBI JE Cut Off marks may vary category-wise as well as zone-wise. Only those candidates who obtain marks above the cutoff set by RBI will be selected for the next round of the selection process.
