The Reserve Bank of India has announced a significant announcement about the Assistant Recruitment (Panel Year 2025), especially for those candidates whose examination centre is located in Imphal/Kakching. The Preliminary Online Test will now be held on 30 April 2026 (Thursday). Fresh call letters will be sent to all eligible candidates from the official website; however, candidates can also expect emails/SMSes about the same.

This exam is conducted to shortlist graduates who want to work in the Reserve Bank of India. The salary for selected candidates is in the pay scale of ₹29,000 – ₹78,640. The Reserve Bank of India has opened the RBI Assistant Edit Application 2026 window for candidates who have already submitted their forms. This facility allows applicants to correct certain details in their online application form. Candidates can make changes in fields such as exam centre preference, father’s name, mother’s name, and 10th or 12th percentage. The RBI Assistant application correction window will remain open from 14 March to 15 March 2026. Applicants must log in through the official portal and complete the corrections within the given time.

The RBI Assistant Notification 2026 has announced the online application dates. The registration process begins on 16th February 2026. The last date to apply is 10th March 2026. The online process will be open for a certain time. Candidates can apply online from the link given below.
Applying online for the RBI Assistant exam includes a few simple steps. Candidates must complete each step carefully to avoid mistakes.

Go to the official RBI website. Open the “Opportunities” section. Find the RBI Assistant recruitment link.

Candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 450 (for General and OBC) or Rs. 50 (for SC/ST/PWD) for the RBI Assistant 2026 exam. The fee can be paid online using net banking or a credit/debit card. RBI staff do not need to pay any application fee.

RBI Assistant Selection Process 2026 is expected to consist of three stages to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of candidates for the position. The selection process includes Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Language Proficiency Test. Each stage checks different skills of candidates. It tests reasoning ability, numerical skills and language knowledge. This process ensures a fair and careful selection of the most suitable candidates for RBI Assistant post.
The prelims exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks to be completed in 60 minutes. It will have sections on English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Candidates need to secure the sectional cutoff marks to qualify for the mains exam.
The Mains exam will have 200 objective type questions for 200 marks to be completed in 135 minutes. It will have sections on Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Knowledge and Computer Knowledge. Candidates need to secure the sectional cutoff marks as well as minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for the language proficiency test.
Candidates who clear the mains exam will be called for the language proficiency test conducted in the local/official language of the state for which the candidate has applied. It is a qualifying exam to test the proficiency of candidates in the local language. Candidates need to qualify this test to be considered for final selection as RBI Assistant.
Candidates applying for the recruitment must go through the RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria before submitting their applications. Candidates must fall within the age group of 20-28 years and must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks to qualify the eligibility requirements set by the RBI.
