Key Instructions for Prelims (OMR Sheet)-
- 5 Options per Question: Each question will have 5 options (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). You must darken only one circle using a Blue Ball Point Pen.
- Mandatory to Attempt: It is mandatory to fill one option for each question. If you are not attempting a question, you must darken the 5th circle to indicate it is unattempted.
- Negative Marking: If you give a wrong answer, or if you leave all five circles blank for a question, 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted.
- Extra Time: 10 extra minutes will be provided at the end of the exam to verify that you have darkened at least one circle for every question.
- Disqualification Rule: If a candidate leaves more than 10% of the questions completely blank (i.e., fails to darken even the 5th circle), they will be disqualified.

The RPSC RAS Mains Exam 2026 is the second phase of the recruitment process and is of descriptive nature. Candidates qualifying the Prelims exam are eligible to write the Mains examination. It comprises four papers based on General Studies, Hindi and English, each carrying 200 marks.

Key Instructions for Mains Exam
- Question Types: The papers will consist of brief, medium, long answer and descriptive type questions.
- Standard of Exam: The standard of the General Hindi and General English paper will be of Senior Secondary (12th) level.
- Language Medium: All papers shall be answered either in Hindi or in English. You cannot answer a single paper partly in Hindi and partly in English.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks-
- General Candidates: Students need to obtain a minimum of 10% marks in each individual paper and 15% marks in aggregate across all papers to qualify for the Personality and Viva-voce (Interview) stage.
