The registration for IBPS PO 2026 is conducted entirely through online mode. There is a single registration process for both the Preliminary and Mains exams. Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is the first stage of the IBPS SO selection process and serves as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. This exam generally consists of multiple-choice questions across subjects relevant to the specialist roles, such as reasoning, English language, and quantitative aptitude, depending on the specific post.

Mains Examination

  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam, or Namibia with the intention of permanently settling in India

IBPS SO Age Limit & Relaxation 2026

As per the official notification, candidates applying for the IBPS SO 2026 exam must be between 20 and 30 years of age as on 1st July 2026. That means applicants should have been born between 2nd July 1995 and 1st July 2005 (both dates inclusive). However, the Government of India allows age relaxation for candidates from reserved categories, as mentioned in the table below:
