APSET 2026 Overview

It is the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) 2025. This is a test done for testing eligibility of candidates to fill in Assistant Professor or lecturer posts in Andhra Pradesh colleges and universities. Arranged by a recognized university, the APSET adheres to UGC norms; there are multiple subjects concerned in this test. The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) 2025 application process will be conducted online through the official website. Interested candidates can register by filling out the application form, uploading required documents, and paying the prescribed application fee.

APSET Application Fee 2026 

The candidates who will be filling in the application form and submitting it, have to ensure they pay the required application fee. The application fee will vary depending on the category of the candidate. The fees can be paid only through an online mode (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking).

APSET Selection Process 2026 

The APSET Exam 2025 will consist of a Written Examination and Document Verification in the selection process. However, it is the written examination which is the main stage of the selection process as it determines the selection of the candidate. The details of the selection process are as given below.

Written Examination

The written examination will consist of two papers. A common paper and the specific subject chosen by the candidate. The exam will be conducted for a total of 300 marks. Candidates need to clear this stage with the required cut off marks that will be set by the board. Those candidates who qualify for this stage will be called up for the final stage of the selection process.

Document Verification

In this stage, the candidate’s documents will be verified by the board. After the announcement of the written examination results, the candidates who have qualified will be called up for this stage of the selection process. The documents to be carried along include Class 10 certificate, PG pass certificate / Certificate from the head of the institution if pursuing PG, PG marks statement of all semesters, Caste certificate or EWS certificate etc.

APSET Eligibility 2026 

The candidates who wish to apply for the APSET Exam 2025, cannot simply apply for it, without meeting certain criteria. The eligibility criteria details that a candidate needs to acquire are as follows. There is no upper age limit for applying to APSET 2025. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (without rounding off), while BC/SC/ST/PWD candidates require a minimum of 50% marks. Final-year Master’s students are eligible but must complete their degree with the required marks within two years of the result date. Ph.D. holders who completed their postgraduate degree by 19th September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation. Additionally, degrees from foreign or Indian institutions must be verified for equivalency by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

APSET Exam Pattern 2026

The APSET examination will consist of two papers. Paper-I will be a General Paper and Paper-II will be the subject the candidate has chosen. The exam will consist of two papers. (Common and Subject Specific). The common paper will weigh 100 marks with a total of 50 questions. The specific subject paper will consist of 100 questions with a total of 200 marks. +2 marks will be awarded for each right answer. There will be no negative marking.

APSET Syllabus 2026

The candidates attending the APSET exam 2025 have to select any one subject to appear for the examination. There are a total of 30 subjects in the list. The Syllabus and Cut Off for each subject will be different. Candidates should select the same subject as their post-graduation. If the subject is not available, he/she should select something that is similar to it.

APSET Books 2026
